It’s National S’mores Day!

Hi Scribblers!

What’s yummy, brown, toasted and gooey? S’mores! Today is National S’Mores Day! I was reminded of this last week when I went to the sponsored Hershey’s suite at BlogHer. Yummmmmy! At the Hershey’s suits, we were invited to sit down and make s’mores- yep, that’s right- in the hotel room! They set up mini burners to make the treats and boy, were they delicious!!

Have you ever made s’mores with your little ones? Have you ever made them forĀ  yourself? It’s easy!

To make some s’mores, you will need:
-Graham Crackers
-Hershey Chocolate squares
-Jumbo Marshmallows
-A bonfire!

To make these tasty treats outdoors, grab a long stick (ooooo- this used to be my favorite part! I’d go on a walk in the woods with my Dad and we would collect long sticks for everyone in the family), then break off the branches and burn one end of the stick slightly in the fire.

Next, place 1-2 marshmallows on the end of a stick and toast your marshmallow over the fire until it is a nice golden-brown. Are you a city person? That’s okay! You can toast your marshmallows on skewer over the stove!

Once your marshmallow is nice and brown, sandwich it between 2 graham cracker squares and a piece of chocolate. Squeeze slightly and remove the stick and enjoy!

To get your kids excited for this treat, present them with this fun coloring page!
