A Scribble and a Giggle!

Hello Scribblers!

It’s Scribble Jam Thursday! Have you been working on your Scribble Jam journal? I’ve been having a lot of fun so far. I’ve played with different colors, papers and ideas. Sometimes I make my scribbles when I feel like drawing, other times, my scribbles reflect how I feel. Today, I am at a special conference and I am having so much fun clowning around (I’m having a blast incorporating Clown Week into my daily adventures!). This scribble was inspired by all the smiles I’ve been seeing on the faces of all the other conference attendees.

A Happy Scribble

This silly face sprang from what I was feeling. That’s part of the joy of scribbling. Sometimes you may sit down with a piece of paper in front of you, and whether you sat down to draw or perhaps you’re scribbling while on the phone, you just start drawing something. You may not even be thinking about what you are going to draw but all of a sudden- there it is!

Here is something I thought might be fun to try, next time you are at a party or you are with a group of friends and you have a really good laugh, remember that feeling. As soon as you get a chance, sit down and scribble how that funny moment made you feel. You can use words, colors, pictures…whatever comes to mind! And then, BAM! You’ll get a new giggle from your happy scribble!

I’d love to see your giggly scribbles! Share them on Facebook and ask your friends to share their’s too!

Up and Away!

“I’m leaving on a jet plane today.  Over oceans, over mountains I am going to fly, in that big bird in the sky!”

That’s what I kept thinking as I was scribbling this morning.  It’s so interesting how when I have something on my mind, it comes out in a Scribble.  I’m leaving for the BlogHer conference in California, and I was thinking about all the fun things I would learn and do on my trip and that’s what I scribbled!

Up and Away!

I really enjoyed creating this one; there were some many little areas to fill with color.   I completely lost track of the time.  It’s important to take some time for yourself.   The scribble will make you smile….So Get Scribbly!

Wavos Translated, Phase 2

Hi Scribblers,

What a blast I had at the Translation Is Dialogue workshop on Friday night.

It was the night before the opening of the TID show in NY at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and we were all gathered and working together to create our translations of the original art that was shown earlier this year at the TID show in in Estonia.

It’s interesting how the collective mind works to help transform ideas.  My plan was to make cubes from my original art and hang them to create a mobile.  There was a table filled with pristine little boxes and when I asked what they were, Arlene said she found them and hoped that people would be able to use them for their translations.

My mind was racing – how can I use these boxes?   So I switched gears and decided to make my mobile into a sculpture instead.

Wavos Translated, Phase 2

Have you ever created something that looked like it wanted to be transformed into something else?  Think about how you can transform something that you have by changing a little something about it.  A dress in your closet, an old handbag or a pair of shoes – they can all be transformed and have a new life with a little imagination.  It’s time to get scribbley, so go find something to transform- and remember, we’d love to see your finished scribbles!

Wavos and Me

Thanks, Arlene! TID was super fun!!
