A St. Patrick’s Day Treat!

Hi Scribblers!

Looking for a tasty treat for St. Patrick’s Day that’ll add a little fun to your kid’s parties (or maybe your own!)? Make Shamrock Cupcakes!

This treat is so simple to make and is a great way to bring in a little Irish flare!

Simply bake your favorite recipe of cupcakes and ice with your icing of choice. Use food coloring to dye some vanilla icing green and draw a shamrock on the center of your cupcakes. Next, use Wilton Chocolate Melts in Green and Wilton Hearts Candy Molds to make green heart shapes. Melt the Chocolate Melts in the microwave and pour into the molds. Place in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to solidify. Remove the hearts from the molds and assemble four hearts per cupcake with the points facing each other to make a four leaf clover! You can add a little more decoration with White Cookie Icing to trim the clover pieces.

Enjoy!

Decorative Christmas Ornament Cupcakes!

Hi Scribblers!

You know my passion for cupcakes…the past few months we’ve made Corn-on-the-Cob cupcakes, Clown Cupcakes, even Turkey Cupcakes! Today, I want to share with you these decorative Christmas Ornament Cupcakes!

These cupcakes are super easy! Start by making a batch of cupcakes using your favorite cupcake recipe or box mix. Next, mix vanilla icing and food coloring and make a few bowls of colorful icing.

Ice your cupcakes with whichever colors you think are best.

Next, create the ornament top by boring a small hole into the top of a peanut butter cup using the tip of a knife. Hint: Freeze peanut butter cups for a few hours before making the ornament tops. Freezing helps remove the wrapper more easily and helps to bore a smoother hole.

Create the loop, or hook, by cutting 1.5″ pieces of licorice. Fold a 1.5″ piece in half and insert into the top of the peanut butter cup.

Add, this ornament top to the top edge of the cupcake.

Next, fill plastic bags with colored icing and cut off the tip of the corner of each bag. Use this as an icing bag to decorate your cupcakes.

Get creative an experiment with all different kinds of decorating styles or even add the names of your loved ones! Enjoy!

Turkeys Gone Wild!

Hi Scribblers,

I was trying to think of a tasty Turkey Day treat and of course (you know me!), I made Turkey Cupcakes!… I love cupcakes! I like sharing them with my friends- I even bring them to my favorite local restaurant and share them with everyone there!

Make Turkey Cupcakes!

To make these cupcakes you will need cupcakes, chocolate frosting, white and green decorative frosting, peanut butter cups.

To start, make your favorite batch of cupcakes and cover the top with chocolate frosting.

Create a pastry tube by putting chocolate icing into a plastic bag and cutting off the corner. Using your newly made pastry tube, gently squeeze the bag and create a head for the turkey by swirling the frosting into a head shape about 3/4″ wide.

Cut a small peanut butter cup in half and place them on either side of the turkey’s head to create wings.

Place candy corns along the back of the cupcake between the wings to create tail feathers.

Use the decorative white and green frostings to create eyes.

Make a beak by placing a candy corn in the center of the turkey’s head.

Sprinkle chocolate sprinkles over the center of the cupcake to create feathers (optional).

Enjoy!
