Tomorrow is National Teacher’s Day!

Did you know tomorrow is National Teacher’s Day?

Teaching can sometimes be a thankless job. They take care of and educate your little ones, provide invaluable lessons, offer a good example and care for their social development! This year, help your little ones show their appreciation and offer a big thanks by making a picture frame for Teacher! With a little paint, a few fabric squares, foam shapes and Mod Podge you can make a decorative frame in no time! Have your little ones help with the painting and gluing of pieces, and of course a little hand-drawn love is always appreciated!

Mother’s Day Tote

Mother’s Day is scheduled perfectly for Spring! Does your Mom love to do gardening? What about Grandma? With a handy gardening tote, it is the perfect way to show Mom how much you care, show your creativity and help Mom organize her gardening tools!

To make this craft, you will need:
- Canvas Tote
- Fabric Mod Podge
- Fat Quarters
- Scissors
- Pinking Shears
- Colorful Thread
- Needle
- Paint Brush
- Colorful Sharpie Markers
- Colorful Buttons

To start, cut out flowers, butterflies and other spring shapes with pinking shears and scissors.

Lay out all the pieces onto the canvas tote to create a happy spring scene design.

One at a time, apply a think layer of Mod Podge to the back of each of the pieces and place them into your design.

Smooth out each piece onto the canvas with your fingertips. Once all of the pieces are down, let dry for two hours.

Once all of the pieces are dry, Mod Podge the top of the pieces. To seal your design, gently work the Mod Podge into the appliqué with your brush.  This creates a nice shiny surface. Let dry for 2 hours.

Using the colorful Sharpie markers, add detail onto your design and let your creativity soar!

Sew colorful buttons onto the straps and present the Spring Time tote to Mom!

Make a Decorative Decoupage Keepsake Box

Hi Scribblers!

Looking to give something new this Valentine’s Day? Decoupage a paper mache box with a Valentine’s Day theme to present your gifts! This box is a gift of it’s own and it’s a great way to add a personal touch to the gifts you give to your special someone! The best part is, the box can be reused as a keepsake box to store recipes, fabric scraps, photos and more!

To make this craft, you will need:
- Colorful Tissue Paper
- A Paper Mache Box
- Mod Podge
- A Paint Brush
- A Sponge Brush (or SAVE on the value pack!)
- Scissors
- Extreme Glitter Paint in Purple, Champagne and Aqua
- Red Velvet Ribbon
- Tacky Glue

To start, try cutting out varying sizes of Valentine’s Day themed shapes. Try hearts, X’s and O’s, or maybe lips! I used different shapes and sizes of hearts to decorate my box. When it comes to decoupaging with tissue paper, more is more. I used a few shades of pink and red, and a few extra accent colors in gold and turquoise.

After you have cut out your tissue paper shapes, let the decoupaging begin! Using the Mod Podge, lightly brush a clean coat on one side of the tissue paper cut out.

Gently pick up the piece covered in decoupage and place onto the box. Smooth out any wrinkles with your fingers (however, keep in mind wrinkles can add to the charm of it too!), and then add your next cut out piece. Layer the pieces until you have completely covered your box.

Next, add embellishment using the Extreme Glitter acrylic paint.

When you have finished adding the glitter paint, let this paint dry and then completely cover the box with another layer of Mod Podge to seal everything down.

Using a little creativity, add a few finishing touches. I added Red Felt ribbon to make a trim and a bow.

What will you try?
